There are two Paragliding competition categories: "Overall" and "Serial Class". US Nationals ranking will include only pilots possessing US citizenship.

The FAI sporting license is required if you want your placing to count toward your international pilot ranking. This is important for the US nation ranking, which determines team sizes at World Championships. It is also required for official world records. The license can be purchased with a credit card from the National Aeronautical Association (800)644-9777.
